SERVICES: Production Logging
TES can provide production logging tools to monitor and evaluate oil wells. These tools are available for either memory
or electricline logging, depending on well conditions and logistics. This highly portable system has been designed to be
flexible with a basic memory section having options to allow either Pressure Surveys, Production Logs or a combination
of both to be run. Readings are taken with a minimum recording interval of one second and stored in non-volatile memory.
The tool is programmed and downloaded using an IBM compatible computer via an interface. Data files and logs can be
transmitted using a modem link to any location from the well site.
Pressure Surveys: Over 100,000 Pressure values from Quartz sensor can be stored at 24 bit accuracy in the standard tool;
this capacity can be increased if required. The data files generated can be analyzed with standard commercially available
packages.
Production Logs: The Production Logging tools can be run with a Memory Section. This allows this type of log to be used on SLICKLINE or COILED TUBING and also for TFL applications. Up to six tools can be used simultaneously in addition to a Casing Collar Locator and a Pressure Gauge. Approximately 30,000 complete sets of readings can be taken before any memory expansion is required. When Production Logging with a memory string, depth is recorded on a separate instrument at the surface. File merging software is supplied to allow depth referenced logs to be presented in standard API format.
Surface Equipment: To program and download the tool, a computer is used. The computer "talks" to the memory section using software which contains a Profile Editor for selection of tools and sample rates for up to 256 program steps. Once a program is completed, it is loaded into the tool and verified, after which applying battery power will start it running. Other functions contained within the software include tool testing, data conversion, merging, etc.
A computer based Depth/Time recorder adds the ability to relate the recorded data to depth. This device also includes the interface to program and download the tools.
Standard printers can be used to output Plots and Logs after processing by commonly available software packages, e.g. PLATO, PETCOM, LISTOOLS, etc.
PLATO is an interactive graphics analysis tool, providing fast validation of models selected by the analyst. The key features are:
